Venezuela has made it clear that they do not like the U.S.. So why do we buy their oil refined into gas at Citgo gas location? Citgo is a Venezuelan owned oil company not a U.S. owned company.
Venezuela’s “president”, Hugo Chavez, has not been subtle about his dislike for the U.S. He is a student of Castro in Cuba. He has learned a lot of the bad traits from Castro that makes him one of the most hated leaders in the world. Chavez has been working on getting the government changed so that he can remain president for longer than the normal length of time that a president can maintain office in Venezuela. Hugo Chavez is now purchasing tons of weapons from Russia and is even having joint military operations. When was the last time anyone looked at a globe and thought why would Russia, located on the other side of the globe in the northern hemisphere, and Venezuela in the southern hemisphere would need to have joint military operations?
    We are supporting these actions. We are helping someone that “hates” us, buy military equipment and create partnerships with other countries that don’t really like us either. We need to look at the consequences of our actions.

Here rural villages apply for free heating oil from CITGO (about $500 a year per family) and CITGO recently decided to not do it because of the falling price of oil and the local NBC station thought the sky was falling.
Of course when CITGO reinstated the program the news channels talked about how great CITGO was and all I could think was that this was pretty much what they wanted the whole time.
