Hillary Clinton unveiled a plan on Wednesday to fight piracy, calling for prosecution and freezing pirates’ assets with the support of Washington’s international partners.
I really thought this was a joke when I first read it. People are siezing ships, ransoming them, shooting rockets at others, and we’re going to sieze their assets as if they were common criminals. I really must have forgotten that part of history class where Jefferson directed his Marines to arrest the Barbary Pirates and bring them to court.
History is barely a part of school anymore. All the focus is on math and science. Doomed to repeat the mistakes without knowing the past!
