Our government officials have to realize the consequences of their actions to the country. What one wants to do versus what is best for the country is always important. We do not get all the info on why things are done the way they are. Most Americans can not handle the true nature of some of the things that have to be done to protect our country. Supporting every government action is not what is being said here, it is just that if we knew the whole truth most of the time, we would be scared Americans. There are a lot of scary things out there. Including countries with extreme fundamentalist ideas such as Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Russia and N. Korea. We have to pay attention to all of these things. It is agreeable that the role of the United States needs to be less of a “police” effort in the world, but there are some things that have to be done.

     We need officials that are not afraid to stand up for our American rights and what we believe to be basic freedoms. We also need officials that are actually in Washington to act as a leader and lead this country. Making laws and extreme issues over small trivial things is part of our problem today. They need to focus on the things that impact most of us, not the whinging few. We need government officials that want to play a more limited role in our lives but effectively lead our country to greatness through true freedom, not make a law for “everything”! Our founding fathers knew this. They setup our Constitution to reflect this, but day after day our current elected officials make efforts to change these freedoms.  This has to stop!
